Watching SNL on Saturday night I felt myself getting a major case of deja vu. Have we not already seen this performance by Justin Timberlake a M I L L I O N times?
Maybe I'm jaded but if JT is really all everyone seems to think he is then why can't he come up with something new? We've watched this Bruno Mars-tastic "Suit and Tie" performance move-for-move with scarf choreography and all, THREE TIMES. First at the Grammys, then at the Brit Awards, then in the official video.
Mr. Timberlake has now hosted the show 5 times, which was documented in the show's 5-Timers sketch which included cameos from the OG SNL greats Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short, Chevy Chase, Paul Simon, and Candice Bergen:
Maybe I came in ready to hate but I didn't need anymore showings of "D*ck in a Box" and "Omletteville". JUST GIVE ME SOMETHING NEW MAN!
Fun fact: Apparently half way through "Suit and Tie" JT slipped in a lyric meant for Kanye in response to his remark and he changed "sh*t so sick got a hit and picked up a habit" to "my hit's so sick got rappers acting dramatic."
Am I way off? Are you guys eating it up? I just feel like Justin left us all waiting for new music too long and now I'm over it.
I decided that my life had taken a turn for the worse, when I was saddened by a scheduling error on the part of Soap Net. I feel a change has to be made when you are watching reruns of The OC everyday at 2pm. So now...I blog.
